Ryan Spillers is the pastor of Aulds Chapel Bible Church. He was trained and discipled through the ministry of Aulds Chapel, and after teaching and preaching here for several years, in 2017 the Lord called Ryan from a career in the fire department to be our next pastor. He has a deep love for the Word of God, and for the God of the Word, and faithfully expounds the Christ-centered Scriptures each Sunday. He and his wife Kelly live in West Monroe.
"I grew up in this community, and for most of my childhood I was brought up in the church. I was raised with the teaching that Jesus had died on the cross for my sins and that He loves sinners like me. However, at that point in my life I thought Jesus was boring. He was the divine fun sucker. "I'll follow Jesus when I get older and actually need Him," I would think to myself. I knew who Jesus was from a distance. But I had no idea what it meant to have an actual relationship with this Jesus. I had no idea that to know Jesus meant that I had to submit to Him as Lord and Savior, denying myself and taking up the cross and following Him. I had no idea that following Jesus would mean suffering for His name. But here is the part that has consumed me more than anything else since I have started following Jesus truly: to know Jesus is to know and experience true joy! By coming to know Jesus in this way my life has been completely transformed. By His grace I no longer live for me, but for Him. I seek to give Him the highest glory, and in return I receive the greatest good...Jesus Himself. So as a pastor and preacher of God's Word, this is my aim: to proclaim the beauty, glory, majesty, and worth of the Almighty Jesus who holds all things together (Colossians 1:15-20). Friend, my desire for this community and for you is that you would know Jesus, and in knowing Him you would find true and everlasting joy. May God make His face to shine upon you."
In Christ, Ryan Spillers
